30+ years of professional experience and many more years of life experience have led me to EMDR. This treatment modality has proven to be successful in treating people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, or a multitude of other experiences: domestic violence, sexual assault, violent crime. The focus of my work is the treatment of children and adults seeking to heal from trauma, anxiety and depression. It is my life's passion, providing emotional support and relief to those who have become stuck in their past experiences so they can live a more fulfilled present and future.

My career has been centered around assessment and treatment of early childhood, adolescence, and families. I have worked in elementary schools, middle schools, childhood trauma assessment programs, a teen/parent substance abuse prevention organization, and individual therapy experience ranging from youth to older adult population for the past 2 years. Through the range of different experiences, I have gained a wealth of knowledge that I intend to bring into my practice to understand and address your unique set of needs.

My life is based on my faith in Jesus while knowing there are varied spiritual interests and beliefs. For most of my counseling years, people have come in mainly for depression and or anxiety. However, other common issues or concerns are adjusting to current situations, anger, life transitions, blended family, divorce, grief / loss, addiction / co-dependency and so forth. As a counselor, my goal is to help people of all ages reach their full potential. I know that people pursue counseling for many different reasons and because no two individuals are the same, each person is as unique as the situations they encounter. Because there are many variables that affect people individually, strategies for the therapeutic relationship will differ on a case by case basis. I have worked with a wide variety of diagnosis including anxiety, depression, PTDS, ADHD, adjustment disorders, panic disorders, bipolar, and many others. I have experience as an oncology outpatient clinical social worker, a hospice social worker, and an Area Agency on Aging 1-B Support Coordinator. Through these experiences, I supported those living with anxiety, depression, and going through life transitions. I am also passionate about helping young adults and children navigate life circumstances.

Erica Miller is a graduate of the Michigan School of Psychology where she earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also a graduate of Wayne State University where she earned a master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Erica has developed a passion for working with teens and adults; particularly women experiencing depression, anxiety, and major life changes. Erica describes herself as a compassionate clinician who possesses a warm therapeutic style and facilitates healing for individuals utilizing a holistic, integrative, and person-centered approach.

I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Before joining the Integrated Behavioral Health team, I worked as an inpatient social worker at the Veteran Affairs Hospital and then as a therapist in a private practice setting. I use a holistic approach to create an optimal environment for clients to express their thoughts and feelings and effectively tackle the challenges they may be facing.
