I believe in making mental health services more accessible and welcoming. I strive to meet my clients where they are and help them discover where they want to be. An emphasis on recovering all that is lost when traumatized is central to my approach. Together, we work to remember the things we loved most before trauma interrupted our lives. I aim to create a safe and nurturing space where individuals can feel empowered to explore their emotions and experiences. By fostering a supportive environment, I help clients reconnect with their inner strengths and rediscover their passions.

Your Space Therapy, PLLC was founded on the idea that personalized mental health therapy is crucial for feeling our best selves. Mental wellness is an essential piece of your identity, and we strive to be there in times of need. Perhaps you prefer to have us come to you for coffee, as opposed to a clinical office setting. Perhaps, due to disability or other reasons, it is not convenient to leave your home. We can assist you wherever you are, it is completely up to you. With flexible appointments and scheduling, concierge care may be an excellent fit. Professional social work and psychotherapy services are provided during sessions.

This Clinician Has Immediate Availability! We are all going through our own struggles, and it is natural to want to find some kind of relief from what we are going through. Too often though, we frequently find ourselves back at square one over and over again wondering why this keeps happening. Mental Health counseling offers us a chance to try and understand our stress, the meaning behind our symptoms, and allows us an opportunity to finally get unstuck.

Your pain does not define you. But, it sure does taint our view of ourselves. It's hard to see the best version of us. I would love to help you see how wonderful you are! I offer appointment times after work hours or on the weekends. You will find me to be a fun therapist who thrives on incorporating all aspects of emotion into her sessions. We may cry, but we will laugh too! We will take about fear, but we will take about courage too! I truly believe that the most change occurs when you feel like you can connect with your therapist! Give me a call and I'll get you in for an appointment as soon as I can!

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
