I want to help you to break out of any negative patterns that interfere with your life. These patterns can be as simple as procrastinating at school, work or at home. They could be more serious, such as anxiety, problematic relationships or addictions. The focus of our work can be any pattern which makes it difficult for you to meet your responsibilities, which are painful or which cause you to miss the joy in life. I believe that you possess the innate qualities necessary to ease your suffering and to heal.

Do you know who you are? Outside of your roles and responsibilities, who are you? What does your inner voice sound like? What do you need right now? What thoughts keep you up at night? What are your values? These are some of the questions that help allow you to build self-trust and create clarity in your life. I am here to guide, encourage and highlight what I see to help you come to clear solutions. My experience lies in working with individuals who are struggling with adjusting to life changes or balancing new roles/identities. I am honest and direct, allowing us to get to the root of your issue, trauma, or grief more effectively.

Have you ever felt like your own worst enemy, that you are not good enough or unlovable? Does your inner critic or negative thoughts sometimes get the best of you? Are you hard on yourself or a perfectionist? Do you have the worst luck or feel that no one can be trusted, or the world is unsafe? On average, we have 70,000 thoughts/day(healthybrains.org) & although negative thoughts are completely normal, they can become problematic. Many times, our negative thoughts are messages we received from others and at some point, we can begin to internalize these beliefs as who we are. You are NOT your thoughts/beliefs & this is the work!

I believe that all clients come to counseling with a personal story that includes important relationships, significant events, and beliefs about themselves and the world. Counseling involves understanding how our stories shape the way we view ourselves, approach challenges, and relate to others. I feel privileged to listen to clients’ stories and help them work towards their own goals for wellness and change.

You need not carry your worries, pain, or sadness alone. I am here to help you tolerate and accept your unwanted thoughts and feelings at the same time that you move toward the life you've always wanted to live. In a supportive, nonjudgmental environment, we will work together to make improvements, however small, in mood, thinking, relating, and coping. I believe there is a place for humor and play in therapy, even amidst the painful thoughts and feelings bound to arise.

Life is an ever-changing journey with so many pitfalls and struggles, it is hard to keep ahead. So many people find themselves struggling with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and other issues that keep us stuck in old patterns. Ideally, I am looking for people who want to make change, even if they feel resistant to the idea right now. Personally, I look to help those individuals who are at least contemplating growth, change, and coming out of the self-constructed safety box. We are not simply looking for the light, we are searching for the source within you. Simply put, people who want to be the favorite version on themselves.

As a client, I know that therapy can sometimes feel like a chore. Sure, it’s a designated place to process painful life experiences, learn better ways to manage whatever life throws at you, but still may be more tempting to sweep it all under the rug instead. "If I don’t talk or think about it, did it even happen"? I've certainly been there, sometimes I still am. I think that mindset comes from a place of not wanting to be witnessed when you are not feeling your best. As a therapist, I enjoy the work the most when clients finally reach a moment they realize they don't have to put up a front anymore, because all emotions are welcome.

I am aware of the stigma surrounding therapy/mental health in the Latinx community firsthand, which was one of the deciding factors in becoming a therapist. Through therapy, we can establish goals and learn how to overcome barriers to achieve your goals. I strive to provide a safe place for you to start your healing journey. I believe we can all become better versions of ourselves. There are moments in life where you feel depressed, experience anxiety, or go through a rough patch and you need to talk with someone who will listen without judgment. These emotions are part of everyone's life experiences.

My ideal clients are dealing with life. Transitions, trauma, relationships, or just dealing with the world...all of these things come without a manual of how to manage. I work with individuals in adolescence through adulthood dealing with a variety of issues such as trauma/PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and gender dysphoria. I meet with families struggling with poor communication and life transitions. I provide couples therapy to those struggling with communication, connection, boundaries, parenting, and exploring non-monogamy. I work with individuals and couples who identify as LGBTQIA+.
