Do you ever just wish you and your partner could feel the level of connection you once had in the beginning? Or maybe you’re just starting out in a newly emerging relationship.
I believe that we are all doing the best with the resources we have. But, sometimes our “best” feels like our worst. I am passionate about helping couples and individuals dig deeper into the problems that cause them pain and work to develop a plan to eliminate or manage those things. Using Family systems theory, attachment interventions, experiential techniques, and your unique strengths I work with you to find what is going to work best for you.

When you feel sad, anxious, or overwhelmed by life, you will often notice that your relationships are suffering as well. These can be relationships with your spouse or significant other, your kids, or even your coworkers. Often by improving the relationship, you will see improvement in these other areas. Our therapists use Emotionally Focused Therapy with individuals, couples, and families to enhance relationships and alleviate fears and sadness. We also treat children, teens, and families who are experiencing behavioral issues or difficult family dynamics. When seeing children, we include the parents in the treatment process to facilitate treatment success.

I specialize in working with couples or relationships, families, women, trauma, and grief. People often encounter relationship dynamics, losses, or wounds that spill over into their current experiences and leave them feeling unsettled, struggling with anxiousness, or finding it difficult to feel connected to the people they love. If you want to explore these past and present patterns, we can gently dig into the therapeutic process together. Our shared goal would be to learn how to honor yourself and lean into the world with curiosity and self-compassion.

You’re concerned about your relationship. You and your partner have more conflict than usual. You don’t feel as connected, as you used to. Your relationship is more draining than satisfying. Now, instead of communicating with your partner, you withdraw, or when you do communicate, things escalate. Somedays, you’re unsure if your relationship is worth fighting for. If any of this resonates, you have come to the right place.

If you come to me for couple's counseling I will use this training to help you learn skills that will deepen the friendship and intimacy in your relationship as well as help you productively manage conflict.
I work to help others reduce distress, maximize functioning and find joy and purpose in their lives. No matter what challenges we face, we can learn ways to improve our ability to meet and overcome them. I use a combination of techniques to build and enhance skills for rising to meet life's stressful moments and to understand that our "weaknesses" can be our greatest strengths.

A core focus of my practice is helping couples bring joy and intimacy to their relationship.
It is my privilege and pleasure to work with adults in navigating life's challenges. Changes in relationships, family status, income, job status, children at home, health and more, create special challenges. It can really help to speak with a sympathetic, caring counselor who has been through it all. I specialize in helping clients work through empty nest transitions.

While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
