My approach consists of multiple proven techniques and making use of different theorist styles to provide clients with the most beneficial approach. I focus on how thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence and impact one another (referred to as CBT). However, I will tailor the sessions to you and your needs as each client is unique. Currently, I work with adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds, variation of issues, and assortment of goals. I strive to offer each of my clients a positive, safe, and trusting place to explore feelings and emotions.

Physical and mental health can suffer. Prior to entering the counseling field, I was a nurse for 25 years. My background in nursing combined with counseling allow me the unique ability to provide guidance in navigating the complex system of healthcare, and the perspective to assist clients in effectively coping with life's painful experiences.

Deciding to go see a therapist is not the easiest decision, but can be the best decision you make to start to live the life you are meant to, and gain the emotional and practical life tools you need begin. I have been in practice for over 27 years, and am effective in treating addictions, substance dependence or abuse, mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar etc), trauma, PTSD, anger management (individual and/or group), grief and loss, and work with psychiatry for medication assistance, if needed. I also can provide Drivers License evaluations, and treat those with addictions or who are substance dependent.

My understanding of counseling comes from many different theoretical orientations because no two people are alike. I believe that individuals have the solutions to their problems within themselves and need guidance in discovering them. We have the freedom to choose what our big lives look like and the responsibility to take control of that big life.

I have created a program in Ontario as well so I am well acclimated to diverse populations and issues.
