Areas of special interest include anxiety, depression, parent guidance, women and relationship issues, conflict resolution, divorce issues, spiritual and personal growth, and couples work.
With over 25 years of experience, I strive to create a safe, relaxed environment where you can openly be who you are and become more aligned with your truth. By gaining a better understanding of yourself and where you are today, we will work to develop an increased ability to cope with life's challenges, and help you gain a renewed sense of empowerment and commitment to your overall wellness. I believe you can do amazing work when you feel heard, connected and supported. My goal is to create a space where you can do just that and ultimately create the positive change you seek in your life.

One of my strengths is to see what is possible: your big picture of - and the pathway to - your relationship goals.
Couples - Have you been working through your “stuff” but still finding yourselves in conflict? Do you KNOW it doesn’t have to be this hard but everything you try just ends in a fight anyway? I work exclusively with couples where both people have some insight into what they bring to the conflict and are psychologically-minded enough to know that it doesn’t have to be this hard. I'll help you identify patterns, develop alternative behaviors, and deeply connect; creating safe space for each of you to heal, grow, and find the support and compassion for yourself/each other to live a wholeheartedly conscious and fulfilling life together!

I believe that the process a perspective client goes through to not only identify the right therapist for them, but also develop a therapeutic relationship, is daunting and difficult. Because of this, I strive to provide a psycho-therapeutic environment that is uniquely collaborative. My approach to psychotherapy reflects the individuality of the client, and also provides an opportunity to identify core difficulties, discover a means of overcoming them, and work towards a deeper self-understanding. I focus on depression, anxiety, trauma resolution, anger, substance abuse, family discord, job stress, and problems of adolescence.

My specialties include: interpersonal/relationship and communication issues, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, family conflict, grief and loss, peri-natal and post-partum depression and anxiety, life transitions and adjustments.
I have experience working individually with children, adolescents, and adults as well as families. I strive to connect with all of my clients on a deep authentic level while fostering a safe and supportive environment. People develop conscious and subconscious strategies of getting through difficult periods of their lives. Frequently, these strategies result in maladaptive behaviors, thought patterns, and interpersonal struggles. Through empathetic connections, nonjudgmental acceptance, and evidence based modalities, we can unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from your goals.

I have expertise in grief and loss, relationship therapy, Stepfamilies, depression, divorce and life transitions.
Over the last 42 years I've learned that what people want most is to be heard. But, more than that, they want someone to understand the feelings behind the words, and to feel safe in that process. That's when their inner voice gets clearer. With clarity, learning new strategies or making decisions about life or relationships is easier. When you know what you're doing, you can choose to do what you really want!

Welcome! I'm so glad you've made the first step in your journey to healing by searching for a therapist. My job is to provide a safe space for you to discover, heal, and love yourself. The heart of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship; a strong therapeutic relationship can help a client feel motivated, worthy, and accepted. I pride myself on my relatable personality, and welcome clients belonging to all gender identities, sexualities, religions, cultures, and races. I love to use humor (and pop culture references) to supplement my therapy sessions. I also like to collaborate to help my clients come up with their own goals.

My goal as your therapist is to develop a healthy and therapeutic environment which will be conducive to facing and overcoming challenges, such as; trauma, grief, identity, anxiety, depression, life transitions, career development, and relationship issues.
Are you feeling frustrated? Stuck? Overwhelmed in your life? Wanting change, but not sure how to go about it? I get it, I’ve been there, and it genuinely...sucks. It doesn’t have to be this way. Those feelings are telling you something, regardless of how unpleasant they may be. I am here to create a nonjudgmental space in order for you to work through those unpleasant feelings, discover their roots, and facilitate the change that you've been looking for in order to alleviate those feelings and work towards the healthier life you have envisioned for yourself. If the status quo is no longer working for you, let's figure out what will.

My research interests are focused on the human-animal bond and the human-nature relationship.
Trying to make sense of painful and difficult experiences is a challenging task for all of us. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship distress, or behaviors that interfere with living a full life, I provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere where you can identify personal goals, engage in meaningful therapy, and find resolution and healing. Respectful collaboration and sensitivity to your struggles are key components of therapeutic work. Taking that first step when calling a therapist can be difficult, for sure, but also draws on your courage and your innate potential for change. Change is possible!

We all face difficult times in life but when it becomes harder to face life's challenges, depression or anxiety may be a factor. I view therapy as not only an opportunity to learn techniques to manage and cope with symptoms of depression and anxiety, but also as a journey of self exploration, awareness/understanding, and growth. While we can't change the past, we CAN heal contributing factors to depression/anxiety, such as family/relationship problems, trauma/abuse, substance abuse, codependency, and grief. My style is empathetic and supportive, providing a non-judgmental atmosphere for personal growth and change.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
