I consider my self a generalist - meaning a treat a wide variety of mental health challenges, but I do have several specialties including: Grief, Couples therapy, Pre-marital counseling, Teens and treatment resistant depression/anxiety.
NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS! As your counselor, I don’t have all the answers. I can’t make your dreams come true, that extra 10lbs disappear or your marriage happy. But – I can help YOU make all those things happen. Therapy is hard work – I’ll tell you that now. I’ll challenge you, call out nonsense and push you to be the best version of yourself you can be. I will also be your biggest cheerleader, your bulldog and ultimately, your guide. I can’t promise you therapy with me will be easy. But I can promise you if you put in the work, it'll be worth it.

Sex is one of the most exciting and intimate connections we can share with another person. Yet many experience sex and intimacy as a source of frustration or shame. Are you struggling with sexual desire, performance, or confidence? I work with individuals and couples dissatisfied with their sexual functioning or the quality and frequency of their sexual encounters. I specialize in the art of intimacy and helping people embrace their sexual selves.

How often do you sit in a space that's just about you? Let me be that space, and help you to re-develop a relationship with yourself.
Feeling like you’re too much and not enough at the same time? Sometimes we experience things in life that cause us to harden; we end up having to create armor to walk through the world more safely. There's so much wisdom in that armor, in the ways we learn to protect ourselves. But sometimes that armor does not serve us; it gets in the way of truly living, and experiencing care and support from those we want to let in. Maybe you’re struggling with how past painful experiences are impacting your current relationships, possibly while struggling to even know who you are. We can’t change the past, but we can find a healing path forward.

My ideal patients are those who's anxiety and depression are increasing. Early developed coping skills are corroding, starting to "see and "sense" the need for change w/o the confidence in our skills and abilities to change, creates fears galore: All born in the unconscious then projected onto the world like a swarm of locus. I serve as guide to those willing to do the inner work which is an adventure inwardly then outwardly: your path. Adventure defined: "an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity." No inter adventure/no out adventure. “Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside. awakes.” Carl Jung.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
