It’s through connection that we find meaning and discover we are not alone. I love working with clients who are curious and ready for positive change. I use Internal Family Systems, EMDR and other evidence-based tools to help my clients navigate their own process of self exploration, resolve trauma, and move in the direction of healing and growth. I believe therapy is an opportunity to explore what is unsaid or undiscovered in our experience. We can learn to hold space for the parts of ourselves most in need of our love and appreciation so we can truly live our most fulfilled life.

Not accepting new clients
I want to work with anyone who has the goal of simply wanting to feel better than they do right now. Not feeling our emotional best is exhausting, and can lead to physical health decline, so it is worth the effort to try to feel better. The causes for not feeling our best can be for any of the reasons listed below ("issues") or, more often, unknown. I will listen to you and help you get to know your Self. Together, we will discover the tools you need to employ in various situations to help you understand your Self and your relationships, feel more confident and calm, less anxious, and live your life to its fullest.

Since graduation, I have worked extensively with Trauma, Neurofeedback, and spent two years in an inpatient hospital developing my identification, understanding and treatment skills in a wide range of mental disorders under the guidance of some of the best psychiatrists before turning again to private practice: Superviser: Dr.
My professional life has been consistently focused on serving people in need. After obtaining my bachelors degree from Michigan State University, I initially worked in the Governor's office in Lansing. I then decided to exercise my entrepreneurial spirit and transitioned into helping guide economically challenged families to find better housing solutions by developing low cost single family homes and developing large tracts of vacant and abandoned land. This work of helping families led me to desire doing work even more impactful, which led to my returning to school and obtaining my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology.

in Inter-disciplinary Health Sciences from Western Michigan University (WMU), an MSW from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in psychology, magna cum laude, from WMU, and I am board certified in neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA).
My goal is to help clients achieve improved functioning as quickly as possible. I believe the most powerful transformation comes from a combination of techniques to understand and reset non-adaptive patterns, including neurofeedback, other forms of biofeedback, such as heart rate variability, emotional freedom technique (EFT), and a personality assessment I use called the Enneagram, combined with behaviorally-based counseling, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The combination of these techniques provide the foundation for holistically examining issues that stand in the way of a fuller life.

You feel so alone. It’s like there’s some invisible barrier separating you from the rest of the world. You watch as people go about their days, connecting with each other, being productive, living happy, interesting, carefree lives. Meanwhile, you struggle with even the most minor problems. What’s wrong with me? You wonder. When you try to talk to other people about how you’re struggling, they don’t seem to understand. How could they, when you barely understand what you’re going through yourself? If only there were someone who could actually see you for who you really are. A place you could go to feel validated and understood.

Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start. My clients struggle with anxiety, depression, life transitions, exposure to traumatic events, and PTSD. These symptoms often leave them feeling helpless, afraid, and like things will never get better. Even though you want to run. Even though it's heavy and difficult. Even though you're not quite sure of the way through. Healing happens by feeling. To work on yourself is the best thing you can do. You will see, in the end you're going to make peace with yourself.

Neurofeedback Therapists

How does neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback, meaning it provides real-time information about one’s physiological functions—in this case, brain activity. As they receive this feedback, clients are guided by a computer program, typically via visual or auditory cues, which aims to modify the brain patterns associated with their negative symptoms. Over time, proponents argue, clients learn how to better regulate their own brain function and improve the symptoms that cause problems in day-to-day life.

How effective is neurofeedback?

Some research has found that neurofeedback can help treat conditions like ADHD, and anecdotal evidence suggests that many people who undergo neurofeedback find it beneficial. However, some experts have expressed skepticism, arguing that the evidence in favor of neurofeedback is thin or may be due to the placebo effect. While the procedure is generally seen as safe and has few side effects, it is not typically considered a first-line therapy and is instead often recommended as an adjunct treatment.

What are the limitations of neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is generally considered safe and most patients report manageable side effects, or none at all. However, the research on neurofeedback remains inconclusive, and some experts are skeptical that it’s as effective as its proponents claim. It can also be costly and may not be covered by insurance; thus, it’s important to confirm cost and insurance coverage before initiating a neurofeedback program.

How long does neurofeedback last?

A typical neurofeedback session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. There is no set number of sessions needed for a course of neurofeedback. Before initiating a neurofeedback regimen, clients are advised to discuss the treatment timeline with their provider, as well as when they might expect to see results.
