I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), family systems theory, humanistic psychology, and mindfulness.
Nobody should struggle alone. I am a clinical psychologist providing therapy to children, teens, young adults, and families. While adopting a non-judgmental and empowering stance, I provide concrete tools to help clients improve their relationships, learn about themselves, explore their identity, and develop coping skills to better manage difficult situations. While helping clients to grow and change, I also support their development of self-compassion and self-acceptance. I have specialized training working with individuals who struggle with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, OCD, and depression.

I approach therapy with a humanistic and psychodynamic approach, which means that I believe you are the expert of your own life, and that helping bring awareness to your past experience can increase acceptance of your own anxieties and struggles in the present.
Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a limited license professional counselor (LLPC) with experience working with teens, adults, and couples in individual and group counseling settings. I am passionate about reflecting on how the past influences your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in the present, and how to create goals to realistically address struggles you may be experiencing. I also love working with LGBTQ+ clients or clients exploring their identity. My job as a therapist is to instill hope in yourself and confidence in your strengths as a human being, while also providing some new perspectives if needed.

I specialize in interventions such as CBT, mindfulness, grief work, attachment therapy, ACT and EFT.
Coping with depression, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, grief and relationship stress can be overwhelming. Unexpected life changes, challenging emotions and negative thoughts can feel draining and lonely. You are not alone. Therapy begins with a trusting connection between the client and therapist. A non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, understood and supported is important. You are not just another appointment on the schedule and I believe in connecting with clients on a deeper level. I look forward to helping you cope with past trauma, uncomfortable life changes, loss and any challenges that come your way.

Hi, I'm Nicholas! For me, therapy is about detangling what it means to be a human by examining the ways we think, feel, and live in the world around us. I have experience working with a diverse population of clients and am passionate about serving members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community seeking support for body image, disordered eating and eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and gender exploration. As a therapist, I do my utmost to provide a creative, compassionate, and calm space in which my clients can feel supported and seen.

I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing issues relating to trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship dynamics by implementing interventions from Emotionally-Focused, Acceptance Commitment, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, and Sensorimotor Therapies.
Have you ever felt stuck in the same cycle over and over no matter how hard you try to break away? These type of patterns can often make it feel impossible to stay connected, be at peace, and thrive. I want you to know there is hope. Together we can explore how past patterns and trauma affect the present while building on your strengths to manifest a feeling of inner strength and freedom. I value creating an affirming therapeutic space where clients of LGBTQ+ identities, kink/sex-positive practices, and polyamorous relationships are safe and welcomed.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
