I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I work with children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral and mental health needs. The majority of my experience has been in the school setting providing individual and group therapy to elementary, middle and high school aged students. I also have experience working with teaching staff on implementing appropriate behavioral interventions to support struggling students. I am passionate about working with children on the autism spectrum, with young people who may be struggling with social relationships, improving self-esteem, and managing stress effectively.
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the client. I have been trained in Child Centered Play Therapy and strongly believe that time spent in therapy can be fun! I also have extensive knowledge of the IEP process and positive behavioral interventions and can provide support to families as they navigate working with schools.
I see my role as being a partner to you as we work to explore thoughts and feelings, understand social expectations, and support you/your child in forming deeper social connections with peers, and I place a strong emphasis on a establishing a positive therapeutic bond.
