Hi! I'm Melissa, and I’m so excited to meet you. Reaching out for help isn’t easy, and it's an honor each day to support people through life’s challenges. We all struggle and sometimes the struggling can feel so out of hand. You just want to feel like somebody understands you, and you want to know that someone is in your corner no matter what. That’s where my role comes in, with the belief that you don’t need to go through this alone. The job is to show up as deeply committed to meeting you where you're at. This means that in this space, you won’t hear me telling you what you need to do, or have me rushing you through this process.
Instead, I’ll sit with you in difficult moments, offer unconditional support, sprinkle in humor where it feels helpful, and serve as your cheerleader as we look to challenge you to try new things. Above all, the view, is we are equals in this process. My background in theatre has given me a deep curiosity about people and a drive to understand their stories.
Combined with various trainings in evidence-based therapies like DBT,CBT,MBSR among others, and a joy for connecting with individuals, the passion lies in helping you feel seen and genuinely heard during this process. This practice typically works with kids, teens, and young adults. It would be a true pleasure to to get to know you and support you!
