I provide trauma-informed and social-justice oriented therapy to adolescents and adults of all genders. I believe that we are all doing the best that we can with what we have, and my goal is to help increase your capacities for self-reliance, emotional intelligence, and autonomy in the face of historical and social factors that are getting in the way. I have experience working with people across the age range as they navigate significant behavioral, relational, and academic challenges; major transitions; issues related to gender and sexuality; PTSD; ADHD; Anxiety; and Depression.
I am curious, compassionate, direct, and collaborative. My work is rooted in Psychodynamic Theory, which means that I consider the possible impact of early relationships and experiences, in conjunction with your/your child’s wealth of knowledge about self and the world, to explore present experiences and views about the world and oneself.
I also incorporate elements of DBT, IFS, and somatic practices. I am trained in EMDR - I also offer this as adjunctive treatment if you are currently working with another therapist. I look forward to hearing from you!
