I specialize in working with parents and caregivers who are struggling in their relationship with their child. When parenting a challenging child, caregivers can find themselves in cycles of constant conflict, either walking on eggshells and/or lashing out in ways that seem unrecognizable. The caregivers I support often face issues such as verbal and physical aggression, destruction of property, and youth substance use. Caregivers deserve nonjudgmental support in navigating these difficult relationships, coupled with practical intervention plans that allow them to regain a sense of peace and safety within their homes and themselves.
I can help you learn to shift the nature of destructive parent-child interactions while also improving the relationship between you and your child, even if your child refuses to engage in the therapeutic process. I blend the use of nonviolent resistance therapy with a trauma-informed approach grounded in attachment theory and cognitive behavioral therapy.
