I'm Melissa Craven, licensed MFT (52019) with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy and over fifteen years experience helping clients like you build skills to creatively cope with stress and overwhelming moods. Clients come to me at an impasse- when it's difficult to shake difficult moods and work through life stressors. Prevailing issues may include anxiety, depression, sleep problems, relationship conflict, and loss of purpose.
I have 14 years of experience at UCSF working with diverse clients and a variety of conditions including mood disorders and psychosis. I employ strategies from Internal Family Systems therapy to map out stress responses and base the work in a stance of self-compassion.
