Often people seek therapy when emotions are increasingly distressing, or relationships or life circumstances are unsatisfying. Therapy can help clarify your current situation, help you understand how you arrived at this point, and formulate a path forward. I describe my approach as active, compassionate, and empowering. My role is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Through mutual respect and trust, we can create an atmosphere of curiosity where you can also be challenged to do the valuable work of self-exploration, growth, and change.
I work with adults and college-aged individuals who come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Some are experiencing relationship issues or identity concerns, struggling with life transitions, feeling overwhelmed or stuck or struggling with anxiety or depression. I welcome individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds.
I realize the prospect of starting therapy can feel stressful, even if you had previous treatment. My role is to collaborate with you on an approach that feels right. During the initial consultations we will decide if working together is the right fit. Currently accepting new patients (updated May 2022).
