My name is Melanie and I am a Licensed Counselor in Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. I am also a Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher. In my work with clients I combine my education and experience as a counselor with my training in mindfulness and meditation to offer individualized treatment to help each of my clients live a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I ground my work in normalizing emotions and mental health challenges so my clients can begin their healing process with a sense of acceptance. Beyond creating a safe space, I ask questions to identify the root causes of emotional struggles to help my clients understand the source of their challenges.
When working with clients, I listen to understand rather than listen to respond, which offers a foundation to explore emotions. I know everyone’s emotional well-being is different, and I tailor treatment to each individual. Together we set goals and make progress at the client's pace.
