My counseling style is warm, direct, and committed to honoring your hopes and goals. While my focus is on how you are currently functioning, I understand how the present is impacted by the past. I believe as you gain greater awareness of yourself and your interactions with others, you will be able to engage in the world in ways that are congruent with you.
I use DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR to increase your awareness of patterns of thinking and acting that were once helpful, but now have become problematic. I believe therapy can promote your ability to heal, ease pain in your life, and help you effectively cope with stress.
