I have worked with kids and their families for over 25 years. My favorite children and teens are strong willed, capable, and smart (academic and/or common sense). I see kids ranging from 3 year old to college students. Some of the most common issues that I work with are ADD/ADHD, Oppositional/Defiant, Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Disorders. Other general issues are poor social skills, difficulty with frustration, poor communication skills and parent-child conflict. Because so many of the families that I see are struggling with how get along easily, I prefer to include parents whenever possible.
Because of my experience in working with so many kids I bring a very interactive and problem solving orientation to my practice. I believe in maximizing an individual's strengths and practicing new stategies outside of the therapy session to reduce the time spent in therapy.

Is your 5-8 year old struggling with understanding the hidden rules of friendship? Why not use this summer to Level Up Your Power to Make Friends? Starting 6/3/24-7/22/24. Each group will focus on different skills (Groups, Talking, Social Hierarchy, Self-awareness). We use Learn the Tool, Use the Tool (through play) format. There will be a handout on each tool for parents to use outside of the group. There will be a max of 8 kids so each family needs to attend a minimum of 4 groups.

Has someone said there is help for your child who is struggling at school? This is a group to help you figure out what options might fit your child. The common ones are Natural Accommodations, 504 Plans and an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Not all kids who are struggling want or need the same things to help them through rough spots. This introduction group explains what these things mean, gives you a chance to ask general questions and decide if you want the next group to explore how to work with your school to meet your child's academic needs.
