My passion in this work is to connect deeply with clients. Research tells us that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in positive outcomes in therapy, and I devote my attention to cultivating this relationship with empathy, authenticity, and compassion. I believe that you, the client, are the expert of your experience, and my role as therapist is to provide a quality of relationship that allows you to safely explore who you truly are, without judgement.

Welcome! You may be here because you’re looking for a new therapist, or maybe are just curious about whether counseling is right for you. Sometimes, people start therapy knowing exactly what they want to address, such as intense feelings of sadness, grief, anxiety, troubling substance use or high levels of stress. Other times, the problem doesn’t have a clear name. It’s possible you feel stuck, or that something’s not quite right, but have trouble putting it into words. Whether you know what you want to achieve in therapy or are unsure if it's even right for you, you’re starting in the right place.

After working in the social work field for close to 10 years now, I have experience working with individuals of various diagnosis and mental health issues. I enjoy working with individuals who are already motivated to grow and learn but I also enjoy helping inspire clients to grow and learn and become the best version of themselves. I have a lot of experience working with individuals with anxiety and depression symptoms as well as trauma-related issues. I truly want everyone to learn how to live their most fulfilled life and I enjoy helping others figure out how to get there, because it is possible for all of us.

Did you ever watch Boy Meets World growing up? If yes, skip the next two sentences. If no, then let me set the scene. A 90’s sitcom about the wholesome, suburban Philadelphia Matthews family, who have two teenage sons. The older brother, Eric, bonks his younger brother, Cory, in the forehead and says “Life’s tough, get a helmet.” While I don’t condone violence, I do agree that life can be tough sometimes. While wearing a helmet is beneficial in a lot of scenarios (i.e. riding a bike), it is not so beneficial in the emotional, social, psychological, or theoretical realms.

I work with all age groups in individual, couples, and family therapy. I am trained in Functional Family Therapy which focuses on observing and breaking conflict cycles that are no longer serving you or your relationships. I am also trained as a Gottman level 2 therapist which I utilize in my couples work. My relational approach translates well for all ages and for a range of presenting concerns for treatment. My particular areas of specialty are working with adolescents, couples, and adult women. Modalities often used in my sessions include CBT, ARC, Attachment Theory, ACT, FFT, and Gottman Methods.

I am here to help get your life in balance. There are infinite ways in which this can happen. We will work to identify the pathway forward that is the most comfortable and appropriate for your situation. There are often aspects of your life that have layers interwoven below the surface of what may be presenting. Rarely is the journey linear or one solution that meets all your goals and needs. We say "It takes a village", I am here to help you through the process of change as you work to adjust, transition, and create the best version of yourself. I look forward to connecting and working with you as you build your toolbox supports.
