"Superman's not brave. You can't be brave if your indestructible, its everyday people like you and me that are brave knowing we could easily be defeated but still continue to move forward"-unknown. It is a huge gift to be able to witness someone who had little hope become that person they always dreamed of! To give just one person the gift of hope; that is priceless. I have found that most people "in recovery", they are strong amazing people! You've overcome so much already, use those assets for your recovery instead of active addiction.

How do our values impact our actions? How do our intersecting identities impact our lives? How do we create mindful attention to our whole experiences–even those that are painful? What are our nervous systems telling us? I am interested in exploring difficult questions with you and helping you examine and find acceptance in the story you tell yourself about your life. I see us as a pair of archaeologists on a dig: examining artifacts and exploring their significance.

I understand, I’ve been there. I’ve made my share of poor choices and bad decisions. Some more costly than others. Today, I draw from my personal experiences, along with providing over 20 years of professional substance abuse counseling to help folks navigate through difficult times. We’re really only a few steps away from starting to get back on track and the first one is always the most difficult. Whatever problems you may be experiencing in your life right now including DEEP, OUI, Probation or Employment, I can help.

I am here to help reconnect you to your inner voice and remember who you are. I am a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, social-justice oriented therapist. I center collective healing and self-liberation in my work, and I operate from a non-pathological and radically inclusive framework. But before all of that - I am a human. And I know you are too! I lead with authenticity and vulnerability, so you have the space to arrive just as you are. In my practice we’ll do just that: practice relational work together to help you build capacity, experience aliveness, heal, grow, and expand.

At heart, I am a listener. I love learning about people through their own words: what they experience, what they care about, and what they want out of life. I work with the conviction that everyone deserves to be heard, to feel respected, and to have their needs and wishes taken seriously. I'm a professional clinical counselor, mission-driven to deliver the best care I can for substance use disorders and other mental health issues. I am constantly reading, learning, and thinking about how better to do this work, in the spirit of curiosity.

There are experiences and challenges that cause difficulty in life and interfere with our wellness. Severe mental illness symptoms, trauma, transition, loss, substance use issues can interfere with daily life and relationships. I strive to hold a safe space in which a person can share what they are going through and accompany them as they find their own answers and navigate their individual healing journeys. Therapy is a collaborative relationship in which both people bring their knowledge, experience, and resources to the relationship to move towards increased wellness and treatment goals.
