We all have busy lives and LIFE to deal with.
Raised in Waldoboro, Maine. Received my doctorate from University of Hartford in CT. Though I have experience working with individuals of all ages as well as couples and families, I am currently only accepting adults with flexible schedules. I have been trained to assist individuals struggling to regain control of their lives after addiction, trauma, divorce, parental conflict, COVID, and societal BS/HS. I consider myself "eclectic" and use whichever model of treatment fits YOUR challenge. My style meets you where you are at and evolves with the pace YOU are ready for, WHEN you are ready.

In the adult client, I especially enjoy witnessing one's ability to reject ineffective patterns of thinking in order to reach and sustain personal growth. Facing what we find to recognize either by internal or external forces that needs correction, is the first step in the process of effecting change. In adolescents, a shift to effect change can be a bit more challenging but no fault of theirs. Helping clients to navigate the life courses; expected and unexpected can be an exciting process to experience.

We will identify and practice fulfilling patterns of thought and integrate more that bring joy and value in life.
Life is a maze of ups and downs, we are taught to push away the downs and "keep moving" without acknowledging our true feelings and needs. Before you know it, fear, anxiety, trauma, depression, self doubt begin to take over and guide our decision making process. Your truth, who you are, and what you want starts to get lost, life becomes exhausting, unsatisfying and lonely. How might it feel to safely explore and validate your emotions and needs? Deepen your understanding of who you are and how you function through exposure to thoughts, feelings and behaviors that take over and create dysfunction in your life.

I work with individuals who want to attend to: managing life’s transitions; achieving greater balance in life; improving lifestyle and health; moving closer to, and securing, life’s purpose; reinvigorating work life, finding relief from worry and stress, and enhancing the nature of relationships.
I strive to genuinely understand your experiences—we will work together to make sense and meaning out of your experiences and identify persistent, uncomfortable emotions which may hinder your ability to live a full and effective life, in the here and now. By examining experiences and arriving at a sense of “making sense,” you are able to have a keener awareness of your needs and purpose in life. My background is well suited to assisting clients in attending to the inter-connected aspects of mind, body, and spirit.

As an LCPC, Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, my practice supports a holistic, bio-psycho-social model where the whole person’s physical/environmental, psychological, and social needs are considered. A disturbance in any one area can negatively affect all areas. It will benefit most those interested in exploring lifestyle and behavioral changes through the process of personal discovery, in finding or creating meaning, purpose and fulfillment of potential, in exploring and developing relational skills and coping strategies through which to honor and manage emotions.

My passion is working with individuals in life transitions, the sandwich generation, grief, overwhelm, self-improvement, relationship support and anxiety.
Being a human in the 21st century, can often feel stressful and overwhelming. Often due to stress and overwhelm we can feel stuck, anxious and burnt out. I work with adults to identify the areas in their lives that they feel aren't working. Through looking at those areas in a non-judgmental, self-compassionate framework we can identify ways to support yourself on deeper level to create a life that feels authentic, nourishing and supportive to you.

I offer a protected space for my clients to unpack their (emotional) luggage and find new methods in coping with life's trials.
If I were looking for a therapist; I'd be hunting for the person that would listen & reflect on what they heard; offer advice that aligned with the problems presented, and challenge me to expand my perspective. I would want them to respect my beliefs and values; and provide authentic, life-giving examples to apply to my situation - using layman's terms and not their medical terminology vocabulary; but through their heart. Lastly, they would have to be funny and make me laugh through my pain. If that's you, reach out to me and we'll chat to determine if we align and could work well together!

Everyone encounters life experiences that block their way to happiness, it's not easy to ask for help but most often this is the beginning to solving the problem and finding the joy that you seek.
I work with clients who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, past life events and trauma that prevent them from accepting themselves and fully embracing joy in their lives. Each person must confront their own challenges but don't always have the tools needed to reach their life goals. A trusted professional can be a helpful partner in walking this path with you until you have the skills/insights needed to continue your journey confidently. I offer a safe and respectful place to look at yourself, your situation, consider alternatives and practice new skills with my support to help reach your goals.

As a result, I'm both realistic and optimistic about the ability of people to change their own life for the better.
Is your life turning out the way you planned? Are your personal relationships succeeding? Are you finding the right career for you? Do people know the real you? Too often we lose track of how we exist each day. Depression over past mistakes or anxiety about what might happen in the future prevent us from being who we really want to be in the present. The goal of counseling is to help you develop a better relationship with your 'self' in order to improve your relationships with others. Check out my video on YouTube to learn more about my approach.

I value transparency and direct communication so that everyone can make informed decisions. Sometimes we hesitate to reach out for help because we compare our experience to that of other people. It's important to recognize that our experiences are unique, as are the challenges we face. Everyone deserves to be heard and to have the opportunity for good quality of life.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
