The focus of therapy is to identify early life influences and learned behaviors that lead to problems. Behaviors include: anger, physical/emotional/sexual abuse. In addition, relationship conflict, anxiety/depression, moods, drug/alcohol/compulsive behaviors. The sub conscious mind is programed from infancy with positive & negative beliefs & destructive coping skills, programmed survival skills. We identify old habits/behaviors/poor coping strategies. We work to replace self destructive habits/behaviors with pro social behaviors. Anxiety & Depression are relieved.

My belief in therapy has always been to meet and help the client where ever they are in life. I know that AA and 12-Step programs are not for everyone. Whether your goal is complete abstinence, MAT, or learning safer ways to use, I can help you navigate your personal road to recovery. As a Substance Abuse Counselor I work one on one or in a group setting. I am also DEEP Certified and can do both Evaluations and Treatment with you. I am currently accepting new clients. We integrate CDC guidelines for COVID-19 for any inperson sessions. My 25 years of clinical experience have taught me about the courage those facing complex life difficulties bring to psychotherapy. Adults, children and adolescents are given help finding solutions. Mindfulness techniques which I have discovered the value of through a 25+ year meditation practice are also of benefit to clients who are looking to make life changes.

I have been involved in this field since 2001 and especially enjoy working with families and loved ones of addicted and alcoholic persons. Sometimes our loved ones keep drinking and drugging no matter what we do, so we need to find new ways to deal with the situation (because this isn't working!). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience working with adults, teenagers, and couples. My approach is an eclectic and heart-centered approach, which is based on creating a safe environment for people to explore whatever issues interfere with their ability to live the life they want to live.
