Hi, I'm Hannah! It can feel challenging to think about starting therapy and overwhelming to know what brings you or your family to seek support. What I know about therapy is that the best fit is usually based on the relationship between the therapist and the client (you). A lot of the time therapy is about how you feel talking to and sitting with that person. I am accepting clients for telehealth sessions only. I look forward to connecting with you!

My clients are those who struggle to find a "home" elsewhere, whether that be spiritual or therapeutic. You're hungry for connection and meaning but struggle to fit any one particular "box." Perhaps you're recovering from a harmful religious past and wondering what place faith has in your life now. Or maybe you've tried a few different clinicians and haven't felt the connectedness you're craving. You might feel exhausted, burnt out, and yet you can't shake the feeling that there has to be more to life. Or you're struggling to make sense of the chaos of life and find your place in your community.

As a Jungian therapist and analytic candidate, my approach is shaped by curiosity about images that emerge from dreams & fantasies and reverence for each person's innate capacity to orient towards growth and wholeness.
My approach to therapy is depth-oriented, collaborative, and attuned to embodied experience. Bringing attention to both present experience and past dynamics, we will work together to become more aware of the stories and values that shape your sense of self and inform your symptoms. We aim to create a sturdy container for deepening your capacity to lean with curiosity into discomfort, difference, and the unknown as it shows up in your life. To support this process, I draw on psychoanalytic and emotion-focused training, mindfulness practices, and somatically engaged Jungian dreamwork.

Concepts and theories I use are: childhood conditioning, "inner child" therapy, IFS informed "parts work", Jungian "shadow work", boundaries skills, attachment style, developmental trauma, codependency, and intergenerational trauma.
Let's get to the heart of it. You want the pain to stop. You keep finding yourself in a place of despair, repeating the same patterns over and over again. You don't know how it happened and you don't realize you're doing it until it's too late...again. Together we can explore your patterns, struggles, and strengths in order to lead you to a new path of self-determined fulfillment. We will gently but assuredly do deep work together, not put a band-aid "coping skill" over your issues. Clearly you're not trying to be in pain! You're not consciously making this happen.

I am a seasoned clinician who has worked with adults, couples and families for over 30 years. Increased awareness leads to increased options. Often the work of therapy is about making or repairing connections--interpersonal, internal or perhaps even spiritual. I provide individual adult psychodynamic psychotherapy; couples counseling: marital, pre and post divorce. I use a multi modal approach often including assessment and treatment from a family systems perspective and a psychodynamic perspective. I reserve a portion of my practice to provide a safe and intriguing space for children to express themselves and to be understood by adults. Facilitated parent-child sessions often help.

Analytical Psychology offers help in dealing with psychological difficulties, encourages and supports the development of the personality. Each person is seen as a unique individual. Truly effective help is found not in pat answers, or blanket treatment plans. Here the analyst acts as a guide or interpreter. She helps the client understand and utilize the resources found in unexpected places. Propelled by instinct or longing, our natural state is one of health and balance. C. G. Jung, the original founder of analytical psychology, said our neurosis, (symptom or illness) arises out of living a life too small for our soul.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
