As a therapist I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for optimal client growth and healing. I allow all clients to utilize this space as their own, bringing their successes, trials, and authenticity. Deciding to start the self work that is needed for therapy is commendable. As your therapist I will strive to provide any resources and tools you'll need along your therapeutic journey.

I came to the world of therapy the long way, following two decades of outdoor leadership, adventure group work, mountain guiding, and experiential education. I find many connections between my work as an outdoor leader and my work as a therapist. I believe the same principles used by leaders to help folks achieve their goals in the backcountry can apply to our everyday lives. I feel I can be most helpful to those who accept being challenged and are working towards goals.

Hello, we are a clinic based at the University of Maine and serve clients throughout the entire state of Maine community. Our services are primarily in-person and we are also glad to serve clients from more distant areas of Maine through telehealth. We offer research-based psychological treatments, such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), for a wide range of ages and difficulties, and are staffed by Clinician-Psychologist teams with specific expertise. Although we don't take insurance, our sliding fee scale means that the session fee is often less than or equal to an insurance copay.

I believe that the healing that occurs in therapy forms and grows from the relationship between the client and therapist. My work is rooted in connection, compassion and empathy. I believe that each of us is the expert on ourselves and our path, and the therapist’s role is that of a supportive guide through our own individual journeys.

It is a nightmare: you don’t want to sleep, nor do you want to wake up. You go through the day feeling numb, empty and hopeless. Your world has turned upside down! Losing a loved one or hearing the words “you have a life-threatening illness” makes you want to scream, run away or curl up into a ball. “How can this be happening to me” You yearn for the world you once knew, one that was predictable, familiar and comfortable. You want to embrace the day, not dread it. Is it ever going to be possible to laugh, smile and be you again?

Start where you are.Do what you can.Use what you have “Arthur Ashe”. One of my favorite mantras. Life is fragile, and sacred. If you want to be listened to, and explore how to find your inner voice of self-worth and authenticity, reach out and see if we are a good fit. This is only about you. Keep making yourself a priority, I know this seems like a lot, practicing self compassion, and self-love doesn’t always come natural.I’d love to hold non-judgmental space for you, as you explore your path to healing. Change is inevitable. Transformation will be small or dramatic.Therapy observes as you learn to honor what is best for yourself.

There are parts of us driven and altered by our society, trauma we have experienced, and childhood tendencies. These influences can cover up our authentic selves and alter our best emotional and physical selves. As I practice unconditional positive regard in my person-centered session, I want clients to feel comfortable in all ranges of expression emotion.

My goal as a therapist is to work with you as you navigate all of the challenges, complexity, and pain in our world. There are no easy answers and there is no one-size-fits-all approach, but I can be with you, and support you, with evidence-based frameworks, as you figure out your path forward. I offer a nonjudmental and affirming space to bring whatever is on your mind, whatever you're needing to process or work through.

Reaching out for help is the first step in taking back control, breaking the cycle, and becoming empowered. It takes strength and courage to say "I want better...I deserve better." That journey begins here. While life can present difficulties, hardships, and uncertainty, there is resilience in you - that ability to adapt, bounce back, and overcome. Depending on what you have been through, that resilience might feel buried or unreachable. We will find it, strengthen it, and utilize it to break down barriers. Together.

There are many reasons people start using substances and typically one commonality to stop using: the desire to be healthy and find a "new normal". I've seen many lives changed for the better when recovery becomes a part of life's routine. COVID 19 is sending our communities towards a new normal and as a counselor, I’m ready to help people develop a new, drug free normal.

Are you feeling lost? That no one understands? Are you exhausted from constantly masking and are feeling burnt out? As an unapologetically unashamed fat, queer, geeky, AuDHD, and chronically ill therapist, I firmly believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful space, where no subject is taboo. I work well with folx who are seeking a provider familiar with and understands neurodiversity (ADHD and Autism), LGBTQIA2S+, polyamory, kink, sex work, fat body liberation, and chronic illness/disability.

My role in the therapeutic relationship is to help guide individuals to what their bodies and brains already know though may not be able to access just yet. I aim to provide insight that can disrupt the now-unhelpful routines and habits that may keep you stuck or pull you down. This is an alliance. You bring all that you are and all that you know about yourself while I guide how to move through some of the harder parts. Together, we can find the path for you to see that you are a pretty amazing human being who deserves to feel comfortable in your own skin and are worthy of compassion.
