I have been treating OCD and Anxiety for over 25 years.
OCD and other forms of anxiety don't need to control or interfere with your life to the extent they do now. There are effective cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques/tools that you can learn to improve the quality of your life.

I've been practicing as a licensed therapist since 2013 and have experience in treating OCD, generalized anxiety, major depression, trauma, panic attacks, ADHD, women's issues and self-esteem concerns.
Hello and thank you for your interest in starting therapy! I work well with clients who are motivated and driven to change their lives for the better. I often assign small homework items to help facilitate the process of growth. I'm able to connect with clients who are open with their concerns and value an insight-oriented approach. I especially enjoy working with college students, parents, young adults, healthcare workers, and those in the midst of a transition such as starting a new job, moving, grief, separating, graduating, etc.

I believe that exposure response prevention (ERP) is the gold standard treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders.
Are you struggling with obsessions, compulsions, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, body image issues, or trauma? Do you experience excessive guilt? Do you struggle with thoughts that are difficult to discuss or are taboo? Do you struggle to stick up for yourself or set boundaries with others? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we may be a great therapist-client match. I am passionate about working with OCD, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders and have experience and training in these areas.

suffering from harm and violent OCD, contamination OCD, Just right/perfectionism OCD, relationship OCD, religious/scrupulosity OCD, symmetry OCD, sexual orientation OCD, existential OCD, sensimotor OCD, pedophilia OCD, suicidal OCD, or health anxiety, let’s work together as a team to quit giving your intrusive thoughts meaning and live a happier life.

As someone that’s been in your shoes, there is hope and recovery to overcome OCD. I will teach you how to change your relationship with anxiety by looking it in the face and walking towards it instead of walking away. It is easy to stay trapped and believe the false messages that your OCD feeds you. I will teach you how to rewire your brain into no longer believing those false threats that your brain is torturing you with. My treatment approach teaches you how to stop competing

Are you someone with high functioning anxiety or depression? OCD or ADD/ADHD? Maybe that pesky inner critic won't be quiet, or you hyperfocus on mistakes. Trouble setting boundaries or saying no, asking for help? Do you get easily overwhelmed by others' emotions or your environment? Maybe people say you are too sensitive. You can learn to recognize and label these patterns with time, practice, and kindness to yourself.

I have advance training in treating anxiety disorders and OCD.
Every marriage and partnership goes through ups and downs. However, some situations call for extra support from a trained couples counselor. Couples counseling can: improve communication and reduce conflict; bring back the spark when couples feel like "roommates"; blend families after remarriage; and, create amicable co-parenting during a divorce in order to minimize the impact on children. Pre-marital counseling helps new couples prepare for the future. Whatever brings you to couples counseling, my focus is always on the best interest of the relationship.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
