Accepting new clients in MD and DC! My practice style is rooted in our human need to not go through life on our own. Within our sessions, you can expect a space that will promote creativity and honesty. This will help us build a working relationship to reach goals and lasting change through an analysis of environments, relationships, and thoughts. Our first few sessions will include an intake and discussion to determine the end goals. From there we will use these goals, both short-term and long-term, to tailor the sessions. My main focus is to stay abreast with techniques and make sure my clients feel prioritized during our sessions

I love helping my clients identify where they are feeling stuck and learn what their triggers are so they can feel more in control of their lives. I encourage them to define for themselves what brought them to therapy, what they want from it, and then how it helped them change over the course of time. It is a unique relationship and support, offering perspectives that are not otherwise available. I emphasize that it takes courage, not weakness, to face difficult issues.

I serve adults (18+) in Virginia, Maryland, D.C., and PSYPACT authorized states. I believe that the aim of therapy is to assist clients in better understanding their underlying concerns, like difficulties in relating to others, struggles during life transitions, and experiences of internal and external conflict. Therapy also provides a neutral space for people to explore new and healthy boundaries while working to identify and heal painful emotional experiences, thought patterns, and behaviors.

If you're feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, or just that life isn't what you think it should be, let's talk. I'm a good listener, I've had great training, and together, we can get you from where you are to where you'd like to be. I use a variety of approaches, depending on the needs of my clients, and we will determine an agreed upon treatment plan so that you know what the goals are. Although it sometimes gets worse before it gets better, it always gets better. Isn't that assurance worth taking the first step? Give me a call.

There is nothing like being listened to and understood on a deep level, with genuine interest, unconditional positive regard, congruence, empathy and acceptance. This is what I strive to offer in therapy, as we explore together your hopes and dreams, your losses and regrets, your longings and fears. Many people come to therapy to free themselves from self-defeating patterns, maladaptive behaviors and the legacy of past traumas, so they can be more truly themselves in relation to others and live with greater satisfaction and meaning.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
