Are you are feeling like traditional talk therapy is not enough? Are you finding that you aren't really feeling better after your therapy sessions? Do have a really busy life and scheduling your life around hourly sessions is no longer working for you? Well you've come to the right place. Talk therapy aims to change the way you think which is supposed to change the way you feel but our brains don't work that way. Then when you don't feel any better you are given coping skills that are supposed to do the trick. What if you actually felt differently about your past or your triggers and it naturally changed the way you thought?

Waitlist for new clients
Out of the Office until October, email to be added to my waitlist! Holding space for millennial women to let go of perfectionism, stop people-pleasing, and heal from the past. You feel stuck reliving the past and un-loveable despite "knowing" you are enough. You've done therapy before but found yourself feeling worse. Does this sound familiar? It's not all in your head. Trauma impacts our perspective and causes us to the see the present through the eyes of the past. This impacts everything from our relationships with friends, to sleep and our performance at work. However, healing is possible if we know how to go about healing it.

Whether you're going through a life transition, experiencing something difficult (externally or internally), or want someone you can bounce thoughts, feelings, and ideas off of, I'm here for it. When we take the intentional time to look at how whatever is going on for you is impacting your mental, emotional, physical, and relational health, and how that might be preventing you from reaching your goals, we can not only gain a lot from the therapy process, but also enjoy it. We can work together to talk it through, break down barriers, generate insight, and create positive change in a supportive environment.

The primary goal of counseling is to provide the most effective therapeutic experience available to you. The purpose is to help facilitate behavior change by improving the client's ability to establish and maintain relationships, enhancing the client's effectiveness and ability to cope, promoting the decision-making process, and facilitating client potential and development. Clinicians cannot fix other people's problems; our job is to provide a safe and supportive environment that allows the individual an opportunity to build the necessary skills needed to make better choices in their life.

Hello and welcome! I’m so proud of you for being here, and making the decision to take care of you. Often those of us who care for others could benefit from learning how to care for ourselves. I'm here to be a safe place for you to vent, process ideas, get a different perspective, and learn some useful tools along the way. I have worked in outpatient therapy settings, inpatient behavioral health, crisis work within the emergency department, child welfare and a hospital employee assistance program.

I want my clients to know that, in therapy, we create a safe space for them to comfortably be their authentic selves. I believe that everyone has gifts and strengths that they can access, with support, to heal and progress. Circumstances, diagnoses or life events do not define an individual. Change is difficult and uncomfortable, but it is also essential for growth. I meet the client where they are and pursue an integrative, solution-focused approach, tempered with patience, empathy and a sense of humor.

People of all ages come to me-sometimes they feel "stuck" in a routine or they're feeling like they just don't fit in. Parents often come to me for help with understanding their child and learning ways to connect with them. I work with children with big feelings, teenagers who are trying to figure out where they fit in the world, and adults who are looking for a fun, unique approach to therapy.

All people deserve to be valued, no matter their age, ability, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. They should also have the freedom to choose how they experience life. There is no one perfect way to live. People come to therapy with various life experiences and levels of understanding, that is why there is not a one size fits all approach. Your journey is your own. As your therapist, my goal is to provide you with a safe, affirming, and empowering space. This means that I will treat you with unconditional positive regard, congruence and empathy. I believe that every person deserves these things on a human level.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
