If you have difficulty managing your anxiety, depression, or navigating everyday life, I am here to help. Feeling unmotivated, no longer interested in things you used to enjoy, or finding it hard to maintain relationships? Have you pushed your mental health needs to the side to care for others? These are just a few things I am able to assist you with. The pandemic has been extremely hard on those with mental health issues and has also highlighted these issues for those who have been avoiding them. I urge you to advocate for yourself and get the help you need today.

Any person that walks through my door is one of the most courageous people that I know. Whatever it is that you struggle with, the goal is to help guide you through your own, unique healing process. Every individual that I work with is unique; however, everyone has at least one commonality: they want to develop insight into their struggles and be empowered with strategies for acceptance, healing and growth. With strong insight there is always a way to develop resiliency to be seen, heard and valued.

Welcome, and thank you for being here! Congratulations on taking this first step in your growth process, which is the hardest one. It takes a great deal of courage to face the challenges that often require reaching your own innermost vulnerable self, to open up in order to discover your strength, wisdom, and to trust your intuition in becoming your whole amazing self. It takes a lot of courage to walk through the doors of change and it's impossible to do it alone. Basically everyone, at one time or another in his or her lifetime needs a trusted, nonbiased, wise, and nonjudgmental person in order to meet life's demands.

You just blew up at your daughter again. You’re not even sure what it was about this time, but lately, it doesn’t take much to send you over the edge. You are simply spread too thin. If only you had some time for yourself, maybe you’d be able to solve some of these issues. But when you try to clear a little space for self-care, your inner voice tells you you’re being selfish. This cycle of shame, guilt, and exhaustion feels impossible to break free from. You wish you had the confidence to take a step back and create healthier boundaries for yourself but you just don’t know how to make a change. It all feels so totally hopeless.

Congratulations on taking the first steps in your therapeutic journey. My name is Wala-Neh Labala and I am a licensed certified clinical social worker. My approach to therapy is an holistic one in which I examine body, soul, and spirit. Therefore as a professional, I place a high degree of importance on fully exploring my clients in a holistic manner. I believe that biological problems are often misdiagnosed as mental health issues; and, sometimes deeper spiritual issues if looked at as only mental health issues are insufficiently treated on the surface symptom level rather than at t the source where healing can occur.

Most of us have times in our lives where we feel completely overwhelmed, outnumbered and alone. We've tried to change, but we're still struggling. We know we can't stay in this place, it's too painful, but how do we ask for help? Perhaps it's the stigma, perhaps we've tried other therapists, perhaps we just can't make the call. But there's a reason you're on this site. I'm here to encourage you to make the call, whether it's to me or someone else. You do deserve to feel better!

I was fortunate to attend a unique graduate school at Smith College that focused on both clinical, diagnostic excellence and also on understanding the client in their social/cultural circumstances. My experience is broad and varied and I have had the privilege to be taught by some of the best and brightest clinicians in the areas of trauma, anxiety and depression. I continue to see folks in my office in Towson, MD but also have my office in Easton. I see all age ranges including small children with whom I have worked for over 20 years. I am often referred clients who have been unable to find accurate diagnoses and effective therapy.

I enjoy working with people who are ready to discover new possibilities for their lives. I use a continuum of verbal and non-verbal processing to improve relationships and free people to live richer and more satisfying lives. Carl Jung said "our goal is wholeness, not goodness". Taking a deeper look can mine less used parts and restore a balance that leads to living more from your true self. For direct contact, call 410-924-7372.

I'm a unique therapist that treats a wide array of mental health disorders. We focus on resolving past and current issues/trauma, finding solutions and eliciting organic change. If we are not solving your problems, I am wasting your time. My practice goes far beyond talk therapy, we do work. We explore childhood, adolescent and other lifetime experiences that impact our psychological functioning. To permanently resolve our disorders we must revisit and resolve these thoughts, feelings and events. I utilize DBT as part of my treatment approach and we engage from the first minute we meet.
