Life transitions may bring about unprecedented challenges that can evoke our deepest fears and anxieties. You’ve probably recognized ineffective patterns of behaviors and thoughts that have placed a strain in your relationships or perhaps you have recognized a level of discomfort in advocating for yourself and setting healthy boundaries with others leaving you feeling silenced and frustrated. Together we may uncover deeply rooted patterns of behavior and generational cycles of trauma that impact your current decisions/relationships and identify effective coping skills to help you troubleshoot and manage future problems with ease.

I believe in an eclectic and individualized approach to helping folks achieve their unique goals and objectives, and to cultivate an optimal quality of life. I've worked with people who have experienced breast cancer, those recovering from complex post-traumatic stress disorder, individuals who’ve experienced intimate partner violence, people struggling with or recovering from alcohol use disorder, as well as those managing day-to-day anxieties and periods of depression. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I've helped my peers and allies explore identities, navigate relationships, etc.

Are you feeling unrelenting worry, sadness, or overwhelm? Or is life not meeting your expectations? These feelings can be paralyzing and affect all areas of our lives. It would be my honor to help you navigate through this difficult time and find peace to live a more fulfilling life. I combine an individual approach that focuses on living in the present, helping you to manage life disruptions, and creating the life you want. This can also include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) if we feel it would help you.

I emphasize a collaborative approach to therapy--I bring 30 years of clinical experience, as well as enthusiasm, hope, and a dose of humor, and ask only that you bring an openness to change. Together, we identify specific life goals and generate plans to achieve them. Ultimately, you will come to understand that you make perfect sense; you may just not have been able to use this self-awareness to make the most productive decisions. My strong suit is quickly identifying underlying problems and patterns, as well as your personal strengths and resources.

I help stressed and overwhelmed professionals who look like they have it all together on the outside but may have a few things bothering them on the inside. You might be the person who everyone goes to for support and advice, but when you share your concerns, it's not taken as seriously by your family or friends. This may leave you feeling anxious, frustrated, depressed, and isolated despite crushing it at work, as a parent, or when leading at church. Maybe you are a spouse/partner, parent, healthcare provider, or pastor/clergy who has current or past stressors that are weighing you down or leaving you feeling out of sorts.

Are you feeling overwhelmed or unsure? Does your child seem to be worrying more than usual or struggling with school? Are you and your partner having trouble communicating? Facing challenges with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, school, work or home can feel like an incredibly lonely struggle. But you are not alone. I know that deciding to seek therapy for yourself, your child or your family takes tremendous courage. I believe taking that step is a sign of strength and hope.

Our lives are complicated and often stressful, necessitating juggling multiple roles, responsibilities and internal as well as external conflicts. Clients may be dealing with so many challenges, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating), relationship problems, career uncertainty, family conflicts. Whatever the issue, the important factor is the willingness to face it and bring energy to working on it. The work we do in psychotherapy is both nurturing and stretching and opens the door to the possibility of growth and change .

If you are feeling overwhelmed, don't suffer alone! Everyone can use support sometimes, and I love finding ways to help clients feel comforted, supported, and encouraged. I work primarily with women, although that work can extend into couples and families. I work on many different issues, but have special interest in anxiety, life transitions, grief, and parenting work. I offer an integrated model for counseling and wellness including a holistic approach, practical ideas for change, a beautiful setting, and yoga and retreat offerings. Good counseling can create a connection where change, and growth are possible and even likely.

Ever ask yourself, "I need someone to talk to." "I need to make changes." Have you endured trauma, feel depressed, or suffer from anxiety? Finding the support you need is NOT impossible. I believe therapy is not about “fixing” people but encouraging a space for self-care. I welcome my clients to show up as they are, as I do the same. I provide a nonjudgmental and empowering atmosphere. My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm, safe and collaborative environment. Clients can navigate and overcome all of their life’s challenges. I have 15 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children.

When human beings face adverse events or severe life stressors , it is not uncommon for their lives to spiral out of control. I have a tremendous passion to provide healing for those individuals who are living with the consequences and symptoms of trauma. Currently I specialize in working with individual and adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I also specialize in working with Couples and Families that may have dysfunctional marital and family interdynamics. Addictions counseling is another specialty area and I with individuals and groups in that capacity.
