Some examples are as follows: depression, anxiety, bipolar, eating disorders, grief and loss, trauma, pregnancy/infant loss, self -esteem, social learning, substance abuse, family issues, parenting, ADHD, Autism, and neurodivergent parenting.
I am glad you are here and taking this first step towards the goals you have for yourself. I believe that creating a safe, supportive, open environment can allow my clients the opportunity to move toward healing. I incorporate body work and mindfulness as methods for healing for growth. We all have parts of us that keep us stuck in seasons of life and it is my honor to walk with you to process and examine new strategies to decrease negative symptoms and increase wholeness and health. We can develop patterns in our lives, some learned, some given, and pausing to examine them and develop new strategies is vital to growth and change.

No matter what brings you or your family to therapy, working with a trans-affirming, trans-competent therapist who "gets it," who is knowledgeable in the challenges that transgender and non-binary individuals, couples, and families may face, and who is accepting and supportive of all people, makes the therapeutic relationship process easier.
Are you or someone you love questioning gender? Are you or someone you love needing support with your transition processes? Are you transgender or non-binary and have had challenges finding an affirming, trans-competent provider? I am a queer trans-man with years of experience working with children, teens, and adults who are transgender, gender diverse, or questioning their gender, and their family members. Whether you are seeking therapy related to your gender or not, and whatever challenges have brought you to therapy, I am here to listen and to help you reach your full potential.

Raising children is a fulfilling and puzzling part of our lives. From that first day we meet our new baby, a world of hope, wishes, and new possibilities begin. Parents don't leave the hospital with a guidebook on how to address every bump and hurdle along the way. Children are unique, complex, and exciting. Sometimes however, they also need extra support. In my therapeutic work, I partner with you to understand the needs of your family and that of your child. Together we explore the concerns which bring you into my office - whether trauma, adjustment, anxiety, school related concerns, or behavioral challenges.

Glad you found me and I look forward to working with you! I enjoy working directly with people to allow a deeper connection on a personal level whether you're new to therapy or not. I actively engage honestly and authentically in the counseling and healing process, exploring and addressing issues directly as they arise. I allow time for deeper understanding as the counseling process unfolds. I have been a successful clinical social work therapist for many years, working with a wide range of both hearing and deaf people (I sign fluently) on individual, children, youth, couple, and family issues. I also supervise other clinicians.

Many of us are fortunate to have friends and family who listen to our problems and concerns. But, sometimes, that may not be enough and we need the help and guidance of a skilled and experienced professional. We also want to be sure that we are getting an objective and unbiased opinion. I am a very active participant in the sessions, giving feedback and making suggestions. Most people come in with specific "here and now" issues they want to resolve. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of several approaches useful in addressing both current issues and those of longer duration.

I have specialized training and extensive experience in relationship and family issues, including pre-marital, marital, post-partum, parenting and divorce.
From childhood through adulthood and into our golden years every stage of life presents a series of challenges. Sometimes these challenges become obstacles that prevent one from enjoying a fulfilling life. I specialize in helping courageous heterosexual, gay, and lesbian adults and couples, improve their lives, relationships, and achieve their goals by facilitating insights and new ways of thinking, to more effectively cope with the normal stressors of life. My method is patient-driven and collaborative, though psychodynamic in orientation. I utilize cognitive/behavioral, relational, inter-personal, solution-based, and mindfulness theories in my eclectic and unique approach to individual, couples, and group therapy.
