In my experience, a person who seeks therapy wants solutions that work. And since two heads are better than one, I believe an effective therapeutic alliance can help people attain the happiness and fulfillment they desire. When a safe and trusting environment is established, people can learn to value themselves, develop healthy relationships and heal from painful experiences.
My therapy style is direct and active. I rely on honesty and authenticity in therapy to guide our collaborative efforts. Therapy can only be successful when the client and therapist have a good working relationship and the client participates fully.

I am a Baltimore-based psychotherapist treating individuals, couples and families for almost a decade. My empathic, creative approach allows me to pay close attention to the narratives and repeating patterns in my clients’ lives and to develop an individualized plan of action.

I work with those struggling with confidence/self-esteem/self-compassion, those interested in working on emotion identification and regulation, and those struggling with inattentiveness/focus difficulties. I help those who want to build up their coping skills toolkit. I am interested in working with those striving to identify and live aligned with their values and eager to engage in therapy. I am comfortable with people who might be the first generation willing to engage and trust the therapeutic relationship. I want to work with someone who wants to find balance and acceptance in a life of suffering and joy.

Here at Transform Your Mind we are here to build a trusting relationship with people who ready to live a healthy, happy, and productive life.
No one wakes up and says, bless me with a mental illness and negative thoughts. I know, having either or can make you feel isolated, embarrassed, and alone. Having a mental illness and/or negative thoughts are not uncommon, but can be scary if you are trying to deal with it by yourself.

Do you miss the easy way you both would listen and understand each other? Would you like your communication to solve problems instead of start conflicts? When you reach out with a need is it answered? The focus of my practice is relationships, for couples, individuals, and families. Finding ourselves in recurring conflicts and stalemates at home can create a hopeless place, accompanied by feelings of anger, confusion, and loneliness. Through therapy, we can learn to communicate clearly, state our needs, and rebuild trust. Let's work together to unravel the stuck place you're in and rewrite the script for greater joy and connection.

The therapist/client relationship is sacred; building on trust and safety to achieve desired goals through healing old wounds and providing hope for the future.
Feeling depressed, anxious and stressed? These feelings can impact our most important relationships. And, our most important relationships can activate theses feelings in us as well. Being able to talk with someone in a non-judgmental atmosphere can be helpful as we explore your thoughts and feelings in new way. Therapy can also help us to look more closely at the repetitious patterns in our feelings and behaviors and learn, though reflection, self discovery and insight, how to re-frame and rebuild our lives in a way that brings us joy and hope!

I’ve been described as “analytical yet approachable,” and I find working with motivated individuals and couples who are seeking change in their life to be a pleasure.
We have the ability to reinvent ourselves at any given moment. In psychotherapy, that possibility is truly there, yet is something that takes work, and a well-nurtured belief in yourself. I’ve dedicated myself to understanding what it is to be human and to effectively treat emotional distress. And, I’ve seen a range of the difficulties people deal with in my work, but it seems that most folks are simply seeking authentic meaning and connection in some way, shape or form. It is an honor and privilege to do that work, building a vision of what true connection and meaning looks like for you, and how to bring that about, together.

My training in Mind-Body Medicine, IFS, CBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, meditation and yoga therapy and work in private practice, clinics, schools, psychiatric wards has provided me with a diverse set of clinical skills that relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, attentional challenges, grief, and relationship issues.
Beneath all of our disappointments, losses, and heartbreaks, we all want to be valued for who we are, accepted for how we feel, and respected for what we think. I will encourage you to cultivate present moment awareness and self-compassion for the painful difficulties, challenging life circumstances, and to the inner narrative that keeps you stuck in habitual patterns of reacting. While fear and doubt may obscure your perspective, we will work together to help you develop strength-based skills and capacities for moving through challenges. I will help you access your inner wisdom for cultivating trust, balance, clarity, & connection.

With close to 20 years of clinical experience, I understand how to establish strong relationships with individuals, couples and families struggling with life's challenges, as am I.
I am an exceptional listener, mentor and guide who works with people dealing with depression, mood disorders, anxiety, and addiction. My practice is patient-centered: I am trained in a number of treatment modalities, but they can only be effective if an honest, trusting relationship is forged between me and my patient. Creating that relationship cannot be one-sided; it must be collaborative. My first order of business when meeting a new client is to begin developing trust on both sides. I ask questions. I listen. I offer honest feedback. I keep my mind and heart open.

I partner with women who are ready to love, live, and create from the truest version of themselves.
Is the life you're living not the life you imagined? Do you feel like you have given the best of yourself to others and wonder what's left for you? Does it feel like you are running out of time and you have yet to discover your purpose? Have you mastered the art of looking "all together" but inwardly it's taking everything you have to keep yourself together? Do you become angry, frustrated, sad, irritated when you think about your future? Are you feeling life has left you without options forcing you to settle for whatever comes your way? Have you stopped dreaming, imagining, and pursuing the once fiery passions of your heart?

Curiosity, empathy, and creativity are the main things I bring into our therapeutic relationship.
I am a creative, queer, neurodivergent therapist who is LGBTQIA+ affirming. Often my work is centered around identity, including the different parts of you that may be wounded, need cared for, and are calling out for growth. With a background rich in the performing arts, I am aware of the specific mental and emotional trauma and struggles that are often associated with creative work and love working with artist of all kinds. Additionally, I have experience working in university and healthcare settings, and hold deep empathy for the particular struggles encountered in these environments as well. Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
