Hey! My name is Maya. I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Berkeley, CA. I offer therapy to teens, adults and relationships of all kinds. I love working with people who sit with big questions. People who grapple with longing, and who deeply want to experience something different in their life. I see therapy as a process of uncovering and exploring together, over time inviting in more felt experiences of aliveness, self-knowing and belonging. This world is a wild one and it's a gift to get to walk alongside you in the wilderness of your unique experience.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, dynamic, and relational. I balance curious inquiry with spacious presence to see what emerges for you. I center and follow your present-moment experience, as I believe this is where insight and potential new experiences occur. I wonder about how notions of home, belonging, culture and power impact how and who we are.
My practice weaves together embodied presence, intersecional & ecosystemic thinking, and a devotion to liberation. I am an LGBTQ+, poly, kink, sex work and gender queer-affirming therapist with personal and professional experience with these communities. Therapy is offered online or in person. Feel free to reach out for a phone consultation.
