We often find ourselves stuck in all too familiar negative patterns. Patterns of behavior that we know don't serve ourselves or our loved ones. Patterns of thought that always seem to tear us down no matter how much progress we make. Patterns within relationships that are less than we deserve. Patterns of anxiety and stress that feel out of our control. Many of us have worked hard to understand and change these patterns: setting goals, self-help books, therapy, medication, meditation, and so on. Yet we find that the deepest patterns are frustratingly stubborn, seeming to rise to the surface no matter how much work we've done.
Why? The answer is that these patterns are rooted deeply in our nervous systems. Intellectual understanding can help us to function and even succeed in this life despite them. But, to foster deeper more fundamental shifts, we need to meet these patterns with techniques that foster change and integration at the deepest levels.
My practice combines therapies that are designed to do just that. With constant input from the latest in neuroscience; EMDR, IFS, and Somatic therapies represent the forefront in the movement beyond talk therapy and towards working with the nervous system to deeply integrate positive change. Curious? I encourage you to reach out for a free consultation.
