My approach is rooted in trauma-informed and liberation-focused practices and is influenced by my training in relational psychology. I believe relationship plays a foundational role in our formation - the relationships we have with other people as well as the systems and environments we find ourselves in can have a profound impact on us. We often experience wounding through relationship but can also experience immense growth and healing through relationship, both with ourself and with others.
I tend to utilize a non-pathologizing approach and believe that many of the patterns that lead us to therapy have likely served us well and offered us protection at some point in our lives. In our work together, we will likely explore significant events and relationships throughout your life and the ways they have impacted you.
We will also pay attention to different thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and embodied sensations you may experience to better understand the ways in which you relate to yourself, others, and your environment and incorporate practices that emphasize compassion, empathy and kindness as a way to pursue healing.
