I listen and pay attention to my patients, engage honestly, and collaborate with them to reach our therapeutic goals. I also assign homework to ensure continuity of care. I am very compassionate, but very honest with my patients because with pleasantness I believe we can heal our patients better/quicker.
My approach to goal setting with clients is working together with my patients to state what they want to accomplish in their sessions together. With time it is easy to build trust between Therapists/patients, and as such patients become comfortable to express themselves better in therapy, therefore after meeting for a while we can expand their goals.
