"Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us". Emotional trauma creates a loss of faith that there is any predictability or safe place in which to retreat. The trauma can take on a life of its own, and prevents normal life from developing until help is sought. Successful treatment allows healing to take place so you can resume living. My aim is to help you work through painful events, both past and present, so you can feel empowered, reestablish a connection with yourself and other people, and to find meaning in life again.
My approach to counseling incorporates my own model Integrative Neuropsychology (TM), which integrates several techniques and theories based on neuroscientific research of the brain. This model has been used when co-authoring a book "Treating the Wounded Warrior: The Comprehensive Family Systems Approach to Treating PTSD", and when presenting at several national conferences on PTSD.
With over 20 years of clinical experience in the areas of military issues, PTSD and trauma, mood disorders, and marriage and family, I would love to take the journey with you on the road to healing.
