Mary Lou Plantz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing since 1999. Mary Lou earned her MSW degree from Syracuse University and advanced clinical certificates in the Treatment of Alcohol and Drug Abuse from Fordham University as well as Child and Adolescent Therapy from New York University. Mary Lou has more than 20 years of experience in crisis intervention and psychotherapy in various settings including civilian/military hospitals, outpatient medical centers, and multidisciplinary private practices. Prior to joining LifeStance, Mary Lou worked for the Dept.
of Defense as an Integrated Behavioral Health Consultant and subject matter expert advising other professional staff in military hospitals and outpatient medical centers. She utilizes a holistic approach and has a special interest in the mind/body connection with the goal of achieving maximum wellness.
Evidence based interventions used include Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, Behavioral Activation, and SolutionFocused therapy. Outside of work, Mary Lou enjoys travel, reading, and concerts.
