Aloha, My name is Mary Duke. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MHC) based in Hawaii, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress related to work/life transitions, and relationships. I utilize Cognitive Behavior therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients live a more fulfilling life. My approach to therapy depends on the needs of my clients. I utilize a Humanistic, strength-based, collaborative approach. I utilize CBT because it aims to teach people that it is possible to have control over your thoughts and feelings.
My approach to goal setting is collaborative. Together, we will identify and clarify what you want to accomplish during our time together. During the first initial sessions, we will work together to establish your specific goals and monitor your progress.
Our first session is all about establishing a connection. We will talk about how you have been feeling lately and what your expectations are for our time together. It is very important that you feel safe and unjudged so that you will feel free to share your story and the reason for seeking out support.
