Whether you are trying to make your marriage work or working to co-parent after divorce, I am here to help.
Navigating intimate relationships can be challenging. Remember that feeling you had when you went out with your crush for the first time? You laughed at each other's jokes, you noticed how much you had in common, and you thought, "this is my person!" While it's wonderful when things are going smoothly, the reality is that the initial shininess eventually fades and challenges are inevitable in every relationship. Including that "perfect couple" you keep comparing yourself to, everyone will encounter disagreements and misunderstandings. Life is imperfect and messy, and we are all doing our best to manage.

Welcome! As a Valley native, I have been in continuous private practice since 1982. I work with clients above the age of 12 (and younger children in family therapy). I specialize in resolving depression and anxiety, and tackling marital problems relating to infidelity, intimacy, child rearing, midlife crisis, and communicating. When a client is motivated, I find that short-term therapy is often sufficient, but I may see clients for longer periods when the problems are related to childhood wounds. I often use dream analysis to deepen our work, and draw on a client's spiritual life to help in resolving problems.

There is nothing weak about processing trauma, learning to control anxiety, getting help for your marriage.
The decision to begin therapy does not make you weak minded or a weak person; it does not mean you have failed, it means you're ready to get better! Everyone has different reasons for attending therapy: anxiety, trauma, family, relationship issues, intimacy issues, gender dysphoria.... No matter what made you take this step know that you are in a safe space where your rights and beliefs are fully validated. As a client focused therapist I will not give you advise but rather help you find your own solutions to the barriers lying in your way that's keeping you from living your best life.

Waitlist for new clients
Restoring relationships in individuals and marriages as well as addressing difficult behaviors like infidelity, divorce, co-parenting, re- marriage, and addictions such as alcohol and drugs are my specialties.
You can heal in your goals by developing new skills to become the better person you want to be. By overcoming behavioral issues in whatever lifestyle and situation you find yourself in. In counseling, we can see our vulnerability as human beings where we find ourselves facing irrational ways of thinking that take us to negative feelings and then we act them out. Thus, the process of learning other ventures to life is to face ourselves at times with our own issues and learn to re-think things out. To heal ourselves is to also not only learn to change ourselves but to forgive ourselves along the journey of our lives.

Now accepting new moms at HeldSpace! As a mom myself, I know firsthand how motherhood can be both beautifully fulfilling and incredibly overwhelming. It’s a journey full of love and joy but also sleepless nights, endless to-do lists, and the weight of expectations—both seen and unseen. It can feel like there’s rarely a moment just for you. I created HeldSpace because I believe that every mom deserves a place where she feels valued, seen, and truly supported.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas. The University of Texas at Arlington is where I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work. Being in the helping profession is what I wanted to do since I was a child. My professional experience began in 2016, as a therapist/case manager/discharge planner at a mental health hospital. Working with people in crisis was difficult, but it gave me an opportunity to learn how to handle crisis situations such as people who were suicidal/homicidal, severe depression and anxiety, struggling with psychosis, substance abuse and detoxing, and victims/perpetrators of abuse.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
