Most of the clients I see are ready to create change in their lives. They feel defeated, stressed, overwhelmed, out of control, afraid, spread too thin, unorganized, and sometimes hopeless. Many are of college age; seniors in high school getting ready for their next big life transition and managing related stress, or college students who are having difficulty balancing all of the demands placed on them. I also treat many clients experiencing stressors in all stages of adult life beyond college, including identity development, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress management, illness, parenting, and family issues.
I am goal oriented, and solution focused in my approach. I am able to quickly build rapport with my clients, and collaborate with them to set and reach their goals. I aim to help my clients understand the root of their difficulties, and feel relief of symptoms quickly. I use mainly a cognitive behavioral approach in my work.
I understand that trying to meet all of life's demands, our own needs, and the needs of those around us, makes us feel worn out and often alone. Some of us feel debilitated by our feelings, and can't seem to find a way out of what feels like murky waters all around us.
