Finding a therapist is a challenge. I recommend that you look at what people offer and then meet them before deciding. The work I do is based in helping people develop a different relationship with their internal states, thoughts, and feelings. Through this approach, I help people better understand themselves and their loved ones, find meaning when it seems there is none, and let go of ways of thinking and experiencing that are holding them back.
Couples work can be difficult for many couples, and not every couple is ready for it. Each partner must be ready to do his or her own internal work. The process is similar to individual therapy, with the issues addressed being those that each partner brings into the relationship.
The relationship you have with yourself is the foundation on which your behavior is based. People struggle when they are in conflict with themselves. Resolving these internal conflicts is a path towards having more options, more openness to self and to others, and more satisfaction in life.
