I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, stress, and the challenges of navigating the world with a neurodivergent brain. A core theme I encounter in my clients is the experience of overwhelming thoughts and feelings that make it difficult to cope with and enjoy life. Sometimes this overwhelmed feeling comes from the double-edged sword of a nervous system wired more sensitively (allowing you to be more sensitive to beauty, details, positive emotion, but also more vulnerable to shifts in anxiety and mood), and sometimes the overwhelm comes from traumatic experiences or too much everyday stress.
My goal as a therapist is to help you find new ways to relate to these thoughts and feelings so that you can focus on what matters to you and not be stuck in what overwhelms you. This involves learning new ways to take care of your nervous system and slowly (and gently) learning to curiously approach and accept things you might naturally avoid.
Please be in touch with any questions. Curiosity is one of the most important mindsets in the process of change, so don’t hesitate to be curious and reach out with any questions for me that might help you make a decision about starting therapy with me or another therapist.

Most of the issues I work with are related to the fight-or-flight response and how this wonderful protective mechanism can short circuit in our highly evolved brain. A typical treatment plan includes talk therapy to increase awareness, education, techniques for nervous system regulation, and gradual redirection from avoidant mental and behavioral patterns to healthy acceptance and action.

My therapeutic approach is focused on helping you increase awareness, regulation, acceptance, and effective action. In therapy this could look like having a meandering conversation about your childhood, learning deep breathing, being mindful of bodily sensations, exploring beliefs, identifying intentions, exploring solutions, or using a structured process to help you gradually approach your fears.
