My name is Marissza Cavin, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Orange County, California, conducting Telehealth sessions statewide. I am experienced in working with individuals suffering from anxiety and depression, as well as couples struggling with their communication and life transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients build insight and coping skills to manage issues more effectively.
My approach best aligns with adults coping with mental illness, life transitions, and relational issues. My approach is to create a balance of understanding, compassion, and boundaries to help a client or couple move toward the goals they are working through. I am flexible in working with clients virtually and in person, depending on your location and needs.
This approach focuses on strengths and effective coping skills in order to help a client build more meaning in their life. When working with couples, I use the Gottman method to support couples in building mutual understanding, communication skills, and learn how to manage conflict using their strengths.
