Happy relationships are a refuge from other life stressors, while unhappy ones permeate every aspect of our lives. The focus of my work is on helping clients to create and sustain them. I teach clients how to become more intimate emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually with both themselves and their partners. Some of my clients are dealing with the aftermath of an affair; some are unclear about what they want; some wonder why they repeatedly push others away; and some are trying to understand themselves (a prerequisite for being in a relationship.)
I received training from renowned leaders in the field such as Dr. Dan Siegel, the late Dr. Sue Johnson, Dr. Gabor Maté, the Gottman Institute, W. Behary, LCSW and others. My approach is informed by the importance of developing healthy attachment templates in early life and how those patterns are replayed in our adult lives, often without our awareness.
I weave together attachment science, CBT, neuroscience, EMDR, clinical hypnosis, as well as social science, philosophy, mindfulness, and sometimes even the arts as they can cultivate unique introspection and reveal hidden memories and thoughts, leading to more healing. Although therapy can be challenging, I have witnessed this process transform lives.
