Many people do not have the pregnancy or birth experience they were hoping and planning for, often leaving them with a whole lot of mixed emotions they aren't sure what to make of. Trauma and/or the grief that follows a loss can affect your daily life. You might be experiencing flashbacks, trouble sleeping, panic attacks, numbness, etc. Everyone's system reacts to these experiences differently. It can sometimes feel like your whole world has been turned upside down and you are not sure where to go next. You are not broken, no matter what you have been through.
I specialize in supporting clients adjust to parenthood and process grief/trauma to ultimately feel more like themselves again and truly enjoy parenthood. Together, we can work towards your goals using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach, mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Becoming a mother is a massive transformation. It’s a deconstruction of who you were and a reconstruction of who you are becoming, with a different biology, body, awareness and value system. It involves growing pains including: * feeling like you aren't cut out to be a mother * having conflicting feelings about your baby (regret AND happiness can coexist) * having unwanted thoughts, anxiety, panic, sadness and worry (all of these are normal). Join us in a safe, confidential setting designed to nurture you and create supportive connections between moms of children newborn to 12 months. Babes in arms are welcome.
