Hello, my name is Mariama Chambers, a Caribbean native and a student in a Clinical Mental Health Program in Maryland. As an intern, I enjoy working with clients ages 14+ in achieving their best self through counseling and evidence based practices.
I have experience working with clients who are navigating transitions in their lives as well as clients who have difficulty managing their anxiety, depression, and stressors from daily life. I also have experience working with students transitioning to college as well as teenagers transitioning to and through high school.
At my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Attachment Theory. While using these perspectives, I work at the pace of the client to make sure that the person is comfortable and ready to talk about their experiences. I look forward to meeting you!
