Hi there, I’m Maria Avina for me, therapy is all about helping individuals find healing in many areas in their life. I have over 15 years of experience working as a therapist in the community. When I'm not practicing therapy, I am spending time with my two sons, walking my dog and going on hikes with my friends. My approach I set clear goals for myself and my clients and treat every session as an opportunity to make progress. I approach therapy through a person center lens and through other holistic approaches.
My focus I studied at Sonoma State University and obtained three master's degrees in Mental Health and Career Counseling and have been a practicing therapist and counselor for over 15 years. I am excited to work with anyone seeking healing and self-growth. My clinical experience spans clients of all ages and from all walks of life.
My communication style I am a very emphatic with my clients, for me building trust and rapport is very important; I listen and communicate with honesty. I like to assign homework to ensure that the client feels accomplished.
