Maria uses a warm, open, client-centered, and empathetic clinical approach. She has extensive experience doing therapeutic work with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and families with a wide variety of specializations including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), grief and loss, and trauma.
Maria practices from a predominantly cognitive-behavioral therapy approach, and incorporates elements of mindfulness techniques, art therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based therapy, and play-therapy. She has over 8 years of experience providing counseling in the school setting, and can provide consultation related to special education services.
Our group practice is ideal for clients that have family members or partners that need to be seen by other therapists in addition to their own treatment. When there is demand, we also offer groups such as couples workshops, social skills, and parenting training.
