Margo Smith-Joseph earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Central Michigan University and master's degree in counseling from Oakland University. She works with adults 18 and older. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive processing Therapy (CPT). She has over 25 years of experience working in a wide variety of settings. Margo has experience working in Community Mental Health, Court Ordered Treatment, dual diagnosis, addictions, outpatient, inpatient, group and individual therapy.
Areas of focus include but are not limited to mood disorders, trauma, anxiety disorders, phases of life transitions, stress management and women's issues including postpartum, infertility, stillbirths and infant deaths. She believes that throughout life people experience different obstacles, sometimes people need help getting through them.
