My primary goal is to enhance individual and family lives by assisting them in identifying new coping strategies. Participating in a personal counseling experience allows for an environment conducive to exploring personal growth, self awareness and change. I have been in private practice for over 30 years which has allowed me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. In my practice my initial emphasis is on identifying the , emotions and behaviors that are affecting our lives and gaining insights that will improve coping skills and awareness.
I specialize in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety and other mood disorders. Supporting and helping individuals and families in working through life changes including divorce, grief and loss . I have specialized in the treatment of ADHD in children and adults, and the effects of ADHD in relationships, school and work.
In my 30+ years of practice I have had the opportunity to gain a variety of experience through my work in residential treatment, in-patient treatments and serving as the Clinical Director to the community mental health services board in Virginia before entering private practice 20 years ago.
